I HAVE A TEEN!?!

Onion's #13 Birthday...

Birthday invite.  Of course I procrastinated on deciding to have a birthday party.  So it didn't actually get used!

We Started off by having the Boys grow mustaches...

Not too hard :)

Next it was time to shave!  (I had them keep the guards on.)

Garlic is first, showing the big boys how to do it.

Onion was next.

Showing how it's done...the "dry" shave.
applying the shaving cream.
nice long strokes...
using the "automatic shaving" machine

"Pop the Zit"...I had to come up with a game where they could make loud noises.

The object of this game was to pop the balloons using only their pointer finger and middle finger of each hand.  I know, kind of gross, (especially according to my girls-they will never do a game like this for their boys), but boys like that kind of stuff.  I was going to fill them with creamy white stuff and have them throw darts at them to pop them...so it could have been worse.

           *good rule follower...

*sort of following the rules...

*pretty good at following the rules...

*trying to follow the rules...
*look out...he's got a big one!

Now, they were supposed to show how manly they were by not squirming or flinching after eating something sour.  It would have worked out better if the candies were actually sour like the packaging said:(  Let's just say there was some false advertising.

NOTHING!!!!! THEY ACTUALLY TASTED GOOD!

Cupcakes...so yummy, Thanks to my sister, who only makes good things.

I added a very special candle to the cupcake for Onion to blow out.

No, he didn't get burned.  He was tasting the frosting.

realizing that the candle was a trick candle...hahahaha!

Make a wish...

Yummy!!!!

Presents...

money, legos, and Swedish fish.

Back to the Video games...

It was pretty intense...Mario kart and Smash Bros.

Happy Birthday, Onion!

We're Back...

I decided to try blogging again.  We've changed a little since the last time I posted. Time really does fly by...even if you're not always having fun.
So far this year some of the exciting things that have happened:

*Garlic turned 7yrs. old.

Onion gave him a handheld fan that Garlic was always asking to use.
He liked getting the money:)
Garlic's a very good drawer!

*Onion Went to the Columbia River Temple to do baptisms.

It was their first time doing baptisms.
The Young Men.

*We went to Port Orchard, Washington this spring and got a hedgehog named Hazel.  She was born February 14, 2013.

Hazel taking a bath.  She has her own blog:  lifewithahedgehog.blogspot.com

                       *Apricot took a ballet class

This is our first attempt at a "sock-bun".
First day of ballet class.
She loves to spin!

She was so excited.

We ended the night with gelatos!

*Peach turned 9 and Apple turned 11.

*We went to the Tacoma Point Defiance Zoo with Huckleberry's parents, aunt and cousins!

Some of us.
Huckleberry with his Mom and Dad.
Others of us.  It was really hard to get everyone in a picture!

The "Wonder dog Show"
Onion and Garlic really enjoyed the meerkats.

*We went to Mt. Rainier and hiked some trails around Ohanapacosh.

On our way to Silverfalls.

Apricot liked being carried up the hills.
Just a quick rest.
We made it...ooh...aah!
Silverfalls
Snack break before our next hike

Next hike...
Taking a break on hike #2--Grove of the Patriarchs.

Everyone had to walk across the suspension bridge one at a time.  Apricot got to be carried though.

                                                   Grove of the Patriarchs!

The trees were huge!
On the trail back we saw a woodland creature crawling up a tree:)
Can you see it?

*And just yesterday--Peach got glasses!  Now she doesn't have to wear her brother's old glasses when watching t.v.

So hopefully I can keep up my blog now.  It really is kind of fun. But I guess all I can say is, "We'll see..."
